They seem to be having a good time. Maybe they are comparing bling?

Tough on bling. Tough on the causes of bling.

3. Karan:

maybe they're gonna give him some bling? pretty silver bracelets?

(on a serious note, this really does re-enforce the stereotype we see of America and its cops overseas)

Presumably the next photo in the series will be "Dunstan is wrestled to the ground and has his camera confiscated"...

5. Fatty:

Two points:

Firstly, the guy on the right is sporting one of the gawkiest expressions ever.
Second, I'm sure he's Eric from emotioneric.com - this could account for the gawky expression...

6. Scott:

I wonder what the guy on the right is laughing about...

7. TrumpetBoy:

Sorry to be PC & pedantic but surely we should refer to the gentleman the Police are talking to as "Afro-American"!?!

Nice pic anyway....

8. Sergio:

Tumpetboy: I think "African-american" has been dropped for "black" now ("black" is the new black). The PC crowd does have an ever changing standard of correctness.

I'm not an american, so I wouldn't know for sure, but anyway, neither is Dunstan, so I don't think he should abide by silly US PC rules, huh?

I'm not American either and I agree that the PC thing gets silly.

That said, so do I - hence the previous comment!

Strong colours, great lighting. Man, your camera rocks!

*needs one desperately*

*practically broke*

Damn!

Oh, and Emotion Eric really looks... stupid. No other word for it.

African American? What if he is from Jamacia? Or Trinidad? Or the West Indies. Or a host of other countries that have little to do with Africa other then that their inhabitants happen to have the same skin colour. I think Black is a perfectly good term if you don't want to call him an American.

"(on a serious note, this really does re-enforce the stereotype we see of America and its cops overseas)"

You make it sound like it's a different image when viewed from inside the fence...

I have a feeling nothing happened. Otherwise, why do we only see this picture?

14. Jeff:

I am from America, and to be totally PC, we call them pigs, not policeman. You silly Brits :)

Posted 12 hours, 37 minutes after the fact
15. Mark J:

If you're going all-out for PC points, you say that a group of four pigs physically confronted an African-American gentleman.

That one guy on the right is laughing indeed. Great photo, the title makes it funny.

At first glance, this brings back memories (not memories; I'm 13), well whatever, about the civil rights movement.

Its good that the subjects seem to be having a good time, otherwise you, Dunstan, would be accused of being KKK or something horrible like that.

The guy of the right is indeed wearing one of the most dorky expressions I have ever seen.

In response to the discussion of what to call policemen, here in Orange County (California) we call them "cops". I thought that was the official term.

18. Donnie Jeter:

I heard the correct term was "The black African American." Or maybe it was "The colored African American Negro." I don't know which one.

19. Kevin:

The one on the left seems to be saying " 'Cuse me, buddy.... me and my police buddies are wondering what is the correct term to address you guys?".

20. Karan:

bwahahah XD
the rest of the cast then?
cops/pigs/police/Upholders of the Law:
second from the left: "What in the world..?"
second from the right: "Oh my god, I can't believe he just said that"
rigthmost: "ahawhawhaw..."

guy in the middle: "what the hell, nigga?"

Pig centre left *reaching for radio* “I’m gonna radio ahead and see if the boys wanna ¼ pound’er back at the station”

Pig centre right *huffing* “But I wanna goto KFC, we never go to KFC”

Pig standing far right *laughing*

I've never seen the surface part of the 16th Street and Mission BART Station. Pretty craptacular. One could say that except for subtleties, all old subway BART stations look the same (the SFO station is awesome!).

25. Jim:

they are all cops, the black guy is obviously an undercover narc...

...nice pic.

26. Sarah:

To get "super-pc", seeing as my husband is a "pig" (heh heh!), the guy's colour should not even be referred to? Had he been "white", would we have had a colourful title?

27. William Hamby:

I'm surprised no one noticed (or commented) that only one of the cops are Caucasian.
