Oh, do not mock of you cannot see the power of the embedded metaphors of stock-photography e-marketing philosophy. Here's some of the possible interpretations of why they chose this photo instead of the classic secretary with headset:
- the woman is the Samaritan woman, symbolising the client, and e-inbusiness are like Jesus, saving her from the errors of bad e-marketing. You can't see them/Jesus in the picture, because they're inside the well.
No wait, Jesus e-inbusiness is the woman, and the client has fallen inside because... they went to another consultancy company which was no good, but now Jesus-in-ebusiness-woman will rescue them.
- it's a female version of the Narcissus myth. The woman, again representing the company seeking the portentous advice of e-inbusiness, is too obsessed with the reflection of her image in the water, and almost falling off in that deep, dark well, losing sight of her larger objectives and ... but e-inbusiness are there to help, by showing her content is more important than branding, and customers count more than shareholders.
- the well is the fountain of youth, and represents the million resourceful ways in which e-inbusiness will rejuvenate your company. The woman-client is so pleased with her corporate facelift she stopped at the well to take a look at it. Could lead back to previous interpretation.
- the well is the internet, and e-inbusiness will help you find what you need in it. This is symbolised by the woman leaning into the well because she lost her contact lenses (=lost sight of her objectives, blah blah).
- it's the fairy tale of the frog prince. The frog is inside the well, and the woman is leaning to kiss it. The frog is the client's corporate identity, and the woman is e-inbusiness. this one's easy: e-inbusiness will transform your corporate image from ugly to fabulous.
I could go on, but I'd reveal too much about the creative process of the e-inbusiness team, and then they'd have to throw me in the well, and I'd rather not.
